At bruge sin hund til det den er skabt til, giver en utrolig indsigt i hundes måde at arbejde på og et utroligt tæt forhold til sin hund. For mig og mine hunde er det, når vi hyrder, vi lever mest. Det er ramme alvor for hunden og de dyr man hyrder på og bør derfor behandles med stor respekt. Det er ingen leg.

På denne side kan du læse, om de træningsmetoder jeg bruge, om kurser og hvilke muligheder der er for at konkurrere med sin aussie eller anden hyrdehund i hyrding. Jeg konkurrer med mine hunde i WEWASC – Western Europe Working Australien Shepherd Club, hvis konkurrenceprogram er ASCA´s hyrdehunde prøveprogram. Konkurrencer er på kvæg, ænder og får. De titler du opnår i Europa med din aussie er også anerkendt i Australian Shepherd Club of America. Prøverne er godkendt i Danmark af DKK, men der er ikke noget der endnu har afholdt nogen konkurrence her i landet. Vi håber snart at kunne afholde en sådan konkurrence. Jeg er Danmarks repræsentant for WEWASC og vil du gerne vide mere om WEWASC og hvordan man kommer til at konkurrere i klubben, er du meget velkommen til at kontakte mig.

Det er også muligt at konkurrer med din hyrdehund i Border Collie Klubben. Her er det nogle andre færdigheder der ligges vægt på som fx et udløb, men det kan også trænes ind i en tæthyrdende hunderace.

Jeg har selv får og ænder, men har også et tæt samarbejde med andre hyrder, for hele tiden at udvikle mig selv og mine hunde.

Herding

Working with your dog for the job it has been bred for generations to do provide an incredible insight into the dog’s way of working and builds a close relationship with your dog. For me and my dogs, herding is when we feel the most alive! Strict boundaries must be set when herding to ensure both the dogs and the animals you are herding with are treated with the utmost respect. It is not a game.

On this site you can read about the training methods I use and about courses you may attend with your Aussie or another herding dog and about the different trials that have be held. I trial with my dogs in WEWASC – the Western European Working Australian Shepherd Club – who’s trial programme is ASCA’s trial program. We compete with cattle, ducks and sheep. The titles you receive in Europe with your dog are also recognised by ASCA. The ASCA program is recognised in Denmark by DKK but we have not yet had an ASCA trial in Denmark. I am Denmark’s WEWASC representative and if you would like to know more about WEWASC and how you can compete in trials, please contact me.

There is also the possibility to compete with your dog in the Border Collie Club. These trials are different, for example, outruns are performed, but it is possible to train this in a close working dog race.

I have sheep and ducks and work closely with other herding folk to continuously improve myself and my dogs.

If you would like an instinct test for your Aussie or another herding dog, get your dog ready for a trial, train or if you have any other questions, you are welcome to contact me and I will try to help you the best I can. All herding dog breeds are welcome.
